The earth will rotate around its sun three times before a coffee tree flowers; and it will be another 2 to 3 years before there is a sighting of its first good crop. Because growth rates vary between trees and even on the same tree, each berry must be chosen and harvested individually. The best coffee beans are more rare than the best grapes in a fine wine, and like wine, coffee beans are never the same from year to year or harvest to harvest.

The Product:
We select only the finest green beans, hand picked from the best trees in the best locations on the planet: Costa Rica,Guatemala, Africa, Brazil, New Guinea, and Hawaii. After we wash the coffee, the pulp is scraped from the bean and run through water. The beans are allowed to soak for a day, later dried in the sun and then in gently revolving drums. After our coffee is milled to remove the protective husk, it is then graded by size, water content, hardness and appearance. All this painstaking effort results in an overall cleaner cup which eclipses all others with its rich, full-bodied flavor.
The Process:
Decaffeination
For sensitive souls seeking the Sea of Tranquility, some decaffeinating processes will boost you into the atmosphere with chemical jitters. Flying Saucers decaffeinated coffees are not processed with cheap chemicals; nor do we use the so-called "Swiss Water Process" that can remove the flavor along with the caffeine. Instead, we've developed a star system called the "Sparkling Water Method" that uses carbonated water to eliminate the caffeine, not the flavor.
Roasting
Roasting the green bean brings out its true nature and full potential. Proper roasting creates a complex series of physical and chemical reactions within the bean to develop the ideal color, aroma and taste. With other-worldly accuracy, our scientists must listen carefully during the roasting process to hear the beans pop as they expand and then decide how quickly (and how darkly) to roast the beans to achieve perfection.
Blends
Where a single origin variety of coffee bean may be strong in some characteristics while lacking in others, we delicately blend the beans to produce an overall balance and complexity straight origin coffees rarely match.
Flavored coffee
We select the best blend of beans to use as a base and then add ambrosial fruits, fragrant spices and/or rich nut flavorings to provide you with taste sensations that rival the thrills of the most spectacular of Supernovae.
The Packaging:
When it comes to packaging, we have advanced astronomically beyond our competition. You won't find our coffee vacuum packed. We don't have to. That's because our coffee never sits in a hot warehouse to decompose; nor will it sit on a retail shelf collecting dust.
Coffee which is vacuum packed is sealed with liquid Nitrogen. The moment you open one of those bags, the majority of that flavor escapes instantly into the atmosphere, never to return.
